Rowen’s university partnerships bring together top-tier expertise and cutting-edge research to shape the future of agriculture, environmental sustainability, and life sciences. The University of Georgia (UGA) offers one of the nation’s strongest agricultural science programs, ranked No. 6 by Niche. Through its College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, UGA pioneers new agricultural methods and sustainability practices, employing advanced technology to support the ongoing health of our food systems and natural resources for generations to come. The school was also recently approved by the Board of Regents to start its own independent School of Medicine.

Similarly, Georgia Tech’s globally renowned School of Civil and Environmental Engineering bolsters Rowen’s commitment to innovation in sustainable infrastructure. With over $80 million in sponsored research funding from industry and government, including agencies like the National Science Foundation, the Georgia Department of Transportation, the U.S. Department of Defense, and NASA, Georgia Tech fuels a vibrant research environment. 

Emory University, ranked among U.S. News & World Report’s Top 25 Best Colleges for 2025, is celebrated for its innovation, including a No. 2 national ranking for its Biomedical Engineering program in partnership with Georgia Tech. Nearby, Spelman College has been the No. 1 HBCU in the nation for over 17 years and is recognized as one of the best liberal arts institutions, fostering academic excellence and leadership. Georgia Gwinnett College has also been recognized as the most ethnically diverse Southern regional college, public or private, according to U.S. News & World Report magazine (2015-25).

Together, these partnerships position Rowen as a hub of transformative research, ensuring that environmental, agricultural and life sciences advancements benefit both industry and community.

Strategically Channeling Our Greatest Resources

Aligning with Rowen’s mission to create a transformative, inclusive knowledge community is a foundation of community partnerships, thought leaders and stakeholders that span the state of Georgia. Rowen’s funding partner, Gwinnett County, recently became the second county in the state to reach a population of over one million. Gwinnett County is also the second fastest growing county in Georgia, just behind Fulton County. 

Beyond Gwinnett county collaboration, Rowen works closely with Partnership Gwinnett, the Metro Atlanta Chamber, state officials, the Georgia Department of Economic Development and Georgia Power. These strategic connections continue to strengthen Georgia’s position as number one state to do business.
